Mary Kathryn Holt

Mary Kathryn (Wilson) Holt was born on October 6, 1941, to Earnest Wilson and Vernie (Stacy) Wilson in Lubbock, TX. The family moved around until they ended up in Fresno, CA. There Mary graduated high school and married Tommy Holt on November 22, 1962.  Prior to being married, Mary was a PBX Switchboard Operator.  Once married Tommy and Mary had two children, Kevin Holt and Kathy (Tom) Lamoreaux.  Mary became a homemaker.  In August of 1979, the family moved to White Salmon, WA. Tommy, and Mary were also house parents for a boys group home and later became foster parents.  Mary also worked temporarily as a switchboard operator, bookkeeper and dental assistant. Once fully retired, Tommy and Mary moved to Osburn, ID where Mary and Tommy divorced in 2004. Mary spent the last few years living in Coeur d’Alene, ID.  Mary moved to The Dalles, OR in January 2021 to be closer to her daughter.

Mary’s greatest joy in life was her family.  Family gatherings, family holidays, family meals, family trips, all the family feels.  She loved the ocean, seafood, camping and crocheting.  In her later life she loved watching re-runs of The Walton’s, The Andy Griffith Show and pretty much anything with Tom Selleck, but especially his Jessie Stone movies.  She loved watching travel shows and seeing faraway places.  She loved going to church but in her later years when that was not possible, she enjoyed watching the gospel on YouTube as well as reading her bible.

Mary passed peacefully at Mid-Columbia Medical Center on June 3, 2021, from congestive heart failure and complications with diabetes.  Her daughter, son-in-law, grandson Bryan, and grand-daughter-in-law Ellie were by her side.
